Silvervine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. Its gray and silver stem is wispy, and the small, peach leaves are thick with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with petals that are generally violet; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 44 petals. They detach easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like apple, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

It can absorb up to 9 times its own weight in water.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
