Violetbrush

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 198 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, slanted stems covered in hard, ridged, black bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, broad, flat, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of brown that gradient shifts to violet at the top, delicate and sticky.

In late spring it produces several small, caramel flowers with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like new carpet.
