Lilac Grass

This small, purple grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stalks grow in sparse patches that are sturdy and flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, lilac flower.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.
