Goldencling

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 296 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in very thick, smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, huge, pleated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally gold.

In late summer it forms small, blood red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
