Violet

This large fruit tree grows up to 42 feet (12.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.

The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of small, pleated leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are purple and violet.

In early spring, it produces many large, sky blue blossoms with broad, flat petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like fruity.

In mid-summer it produces , long, straight fruit. The hairy peach skin is thin and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is salty and sticky. The brown seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
