Lime
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous very thick, twisting stems covered in knobbly, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is gray.
The branches are long and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, very narrow and elongated, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are bold green with lime tips, hardy and soft.
In early spring it produces large amounts of small, cream blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like cheap aftershave.
In midwinter small 8 pointed fruits ripen. The crispy amber skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy beige flesh is bitter and juicy. The gold seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
