Magenta

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in waxy, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.

The sparse amount of branches are long and thick and are covered with large amounts of giant, sickle shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta or orange, with caramel streaks.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, lilac blossoms with spear shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like a damp log.

In early summer it produces tiny, triangular fruit. The rough florescent red skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft muted green flesh is very spicy and juicy. The beige seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
