Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short, blue grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in thick clumps that are strong.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, drab orange tail.
During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of small grains.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for making strong rope
