Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small, yellow-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The V-shaped stalks grow in extensive patches that are delicate.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, intense purple spikelet.

During the mid-autumn, it produces excessive amounts of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of large grains.

It is very resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making paper
