Greyfruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows the first year, flowers the second year, then dies)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, slanted trunk covered in thick, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.
The sparse amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of huge, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid grey with drab yellow streaks.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, olive blossoms with 7 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like perfume.
In early summer it produces small, wide fruit. The waxy light grey skin is stretchy and edible when roasted; it is bitter and sour, and the slightly crunchy orange flesh is slightly spicy and very juicy. The brown seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
