Knobbly Willow

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 600 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the hard wood is dark brown.

The excessive amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of fuzzy, small, wide leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are yellow and green.

In early spring, it produces many small, purple blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like new carpet.

In late summer it forms tiny, dark orange aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
