Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In marshes, and In damp forests.
It is big, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is extremely light.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
