Sky Blueberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in ridged, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow.

The sparse amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of huge, long, narrow leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are yellow with orange tips.

In early spring, it produces clusters of giant, cyan blossoms with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like rich perfume.

In early summer it produces very large, 8 pointed fruit. The soft sky blue skin is thin and edible when roasted; it is sweet and salty, and the crunchy olive flesh is sour and very dry. The beige seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
