Red Spine Cactus

This average-sized cactus grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall. The perforated stem is red, and is covered in large amounts of fine, black, hair-like spines.

It is slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with cream petals on the lower layer and aquamarine petals decorated with sky blue dots on the inner layer. The central disk is pink, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 33 raised, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like onion.

The cactus's skin is thin, the light blue flesh is waxy, and the indigo sap is thin.
