Bluebell Fernfir

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 163 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in knobbly, gray bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, very thick, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue at the bottom and green with washed-out red edges at the top, resistant and covered in fine hairs.

In mid-spring it produces several giant, bronze flowers with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have no scent.
