Crimson Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This large cactus grows up to 91 feet (27.7 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is yellow, and is dotted with small slate spines. The tear-shaped body is pink-red, and is covered in brittle silver spines.
It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid brilliant yellow petals decorated with purple dots and a crimson central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of 7 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like an ocean breeze.
The cactus's skin is delicate, the bright orange flesh is waxy, and the blood red sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
