Orange Blaze

This small cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The narrow stem is moss green, and is covered in brittle drab orange spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with bright orange petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 44 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

The cactus's skin is tough, the orange flesh is leathery, and the crimson sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
