Mahogany
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 123 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in cracked, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.
The small clumps of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, huge, slender, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are cyan on the sides and black at the center.
In late summer it forms large, hazel, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
