Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This massive fruit tree grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of small, very thick leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow that gradient shifts to caramel at the top.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, crimson blossoms with slender, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like warm milk.

In early winter it produces , long, tapering fruit. The sticky turquoise skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy indigo flesh is overwhelmingly sour and juicy. The red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

The pollen is overwhelmingly toxic to people but not to certain animals.
