Violet Glowfern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant tree grows up to 138 meters (452.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 520 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is pale brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of fuzzy, huge, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gold and cream.

In late summer it forms giant, violet berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It is bio-luminescent.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
The sap causes severe allergic reactions.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
