Yellowfruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 65 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in thick, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.
The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with copious amounts of large, perforated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally faded yellow.
In early spring, it produces many balls of tiny, cream blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like new carpet.
In mid-summer it produces , circular fruit. The waxy cyan skin is tough and sour, and the soft black flesh is sweet and juicy. The florescent yellow seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
