Crimson Succulent

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 41 feet (12.5 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is blood red, and is covered in large amounts of flexible crimson spines. The pointed leaves are generally white. Large amounts of them grow on narrow, burgundy branches that are long and thick. The leaves are delicate, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 34 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with bronze petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fruity.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the cream flesh is sticky, and the magenta sap is thin.
