Twistvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 686 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in thin, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of clammy, miniature, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are hazel on the sides and azure at the center.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, dark grey blossoms with 5 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like rich perfume.

In late summer it forms small, copper berries.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is bio-luminescent.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
