Yellow Spine Succulent

This big leaf succulent grows up to 89 feet (27.1 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is silver or azure, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid vivid yellow spines. The stumpy leaves are either washed-out red, or lilac with turquoise splotches. Handfuls of them grow on slender, yellow-green branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are robust, and easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally green; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cup made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. It has a soft scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the green flesh is soft, and the beige sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
