Golden Spine Succulent
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This enormous cactus grows up to 119 feet (36.3 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 4 very thin stems. Each stem is silver, and is covered in dozens of rigid gold spines. The spherical body is brown, and is covered in copious amounts of fine, silver, hair-like spines.
It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are caramel at the sides and peach at the center grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like glue.
The cactus's skin is delicate, the drab yellow flesh is smooth, and the beige sap is thin.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It blooms only at night.
