Violet Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 44 feet (13.4 meters)0.

It takes 23 months for the green stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The thin, waxy leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) in length. They are purple at the bottom and peach with violet streaks at the top, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces dozens of tiny orange flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of very large fruits.


It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
