Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized, red grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in extensive patches that are strong.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, purple tuft.
During the early summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of small grains.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
