Black creeper

This big creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 59 feet (18.0 meters) and growing as high as 58 feet (17.7 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 6 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 8 inches (20 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The very thick, leathery leaves reach up to 3.0 feet (91 cm) in length. They are black and turquoise, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many small red flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a few tiny fruits.
