Emerald Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 narrow stems. Each stem is emerald, and is covered in hundreds of fine, dark grey, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 47 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally bronze; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is largely flat with 29 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like paint.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the aquamarine flesh is smooth, and the cream sap is thin.
