Yellow-Green Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is yellow-green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible silver spines. The knobbly leaves are solid slate or bright yellow, with pastel red splotches. Copious amounts of them grow on flat, brown branches that are short stubs. The leaves are hardy, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are cream on the underside and indigo on the top grows at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 35 tightly layered narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like rotten egg.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the dark brown flesh is smooth, and the red sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
