Cyan Starflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its black and caramel stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, yellow leaves are broad, flat with irregular edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with petals that are generally cyan; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 5 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. They fall easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like old shoes, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
