Orange-Yellow Spike Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This large cactus grows up to 83 feet (25.3 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 2 asymmetrical stems. Each stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in hundreds of rigid slate spines. The tear-shaped body is moss green, and is covered in many flexible orange spines.
It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with peach petals and a silver central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like alcohol.
The cactus's skin is thin, the pink flesh is rough, and the olive sap is thin.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
