Silverfern
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized tree grows up to 51 meters (167.3 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 71 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, crooked trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.
The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of leathery, small, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either light grey, or purple with indigo splotches.
In late summer it forms small, silver, shelled seeds.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
