Crimson Moss

Moss type: Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas On rotten logs, and On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly frail.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

All parts of the tree are edible.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
