Whispering Petal
Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This large flower grows up to 2.6 feet (79 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is wispy, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are thin with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Two large flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 59 cm (23.2 inches) wide, with petals that are blue in the center, light grey in the middle and light brown at the edges. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.
It has a delicate scent that smells like something putrid, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
