Emerald Flame Moss

This hazel and dark grey moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is extremely durable; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
