Bronze Petal

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its brown stem is thin, and the large, orange leaves are stiff, pointed with serrated edges. 30 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Dozens of giant flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of bronze. The flower head is largely flat with 41 tightly layered narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a strong scent that smells like something putrid, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
