Magenta
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in thick, ridged, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is silver.
The sparse patches of branches are short and thin and are covered with small bunches of large, very narrow and elongated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid lime with green streaks.
In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, olive blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like freshly washed clothes.
In late autumn it produces tiny, perforated fruit. The smooth magenta skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy black flesh is sour and sticky. The brown seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
