Golden Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant fruit tree grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in very thick, ridged, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The numerous branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of giant, long, tapering leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid grey or lime, with yellow patches.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, hazel blossoms with finger-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like soap.

In early autumn it produces tiny, wide fruit. The fuzzy red skin is peel-able and sweet, and the very soft gold flesh is sweet and syrupy. The green seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
