Aquamarine

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 41 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in delicate, rough, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is silver.

The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with small amounts of huge, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in dark grey and pastel red varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of large, turquoise blossoms with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like citrus.

In late autumn it produces , triangular fruit. The crispy aquamarine skin is tough and salty, and the very soft gold flesh is salty and sour and juicy. The brilliant orange seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
