Gray-green Bog Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In bogs.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
