Orangeberry

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, slanted trunk covered in silky, brown-green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is brown.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of small, wispy leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue and orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of large, washed-out orange blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like rotting meat.

In early winter it produces very large, asymmetrical fruit. The fuzzy grey skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy purple flesh is sour and sticky. The caramel seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
