Azure Spike Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 2 very thick stems. Each stem is azure, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid dark brown spines. The cuboid body is emerald, and is covered in thousands of rigid cream spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 20 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are gold in the center, lilac in the middle and turquoise at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has an intense scent that smells like garlic.

The cactus's skin is thin, the purple flesh is waxy, and the intense blue sap is thin.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
