Blackbell Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 22 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, twisting trunk covered in fine, rough, black bark, and inside, the hard wood is black.
The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of tiny, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gray-green with blue tips.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, grey blossoms with long, tapering petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like pepper.
In early winter it produces tiny, oblong fruit. The rubbery magenta skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy peach flesh is bitter and juicy. The white seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is frequently struck by lightning.
