Turquoise

This short caudiciform grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The wispy stem is yellow, and is covered in brittle lime spines. It has a straight, wide, beige trunk atop a stumpy ball of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and gray-green and trail down across the ground.

The ripped-edged, asymmetrical leaves are turquoise and ashy blue. They are delicate, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 20 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are copper on the underside and ashy blue on the top grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 11 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like warm milk.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the blue flesh is smooth, and the cream sap is thin.
