Copperwood

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 49 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, crooked stems covered in hard, silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are short and thin that and are covered with small amounts of huge, very thin, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are slate on the edges and caramel at the center, resistant and crispy.

In mid-spring it produces hundreds of medium-sized, black blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like a man.

In early winter small asymmetrical fruits ripen. The clammy black skin is thick and inedible, and the soft olive flesh is bitter and salty and juicy. The olive seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
