Copperleaf

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 364 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in very thick, silky, light brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is black with white speckles.

The sparse patches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of covered in fine hairs, tiny, very thick leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and copper.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
