Golden Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant, orange grass grows up to 38 feet (11.6 meters) tall. The broad, flat stalks grow in large clumps that are flimsy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, gold tuft.

During the early summer, it produces a modest amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of medium-sized grains.

It commonly grows in large patches.
