Crimson Vinerose

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its red stem is very thick and splits into several branching stems at the top, and the large, red leaves are pleated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with blood red petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of dozens of raised, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like honeysuckle, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
