Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In damp forests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
